Last weekend, husband and I decided to take a road trip up the pacific time zone. It was amazing to see how time changed after just 2 hours as we left Boise. I thought it was a rather beautiful road trip with not much to see except beautiful canyons, large scale agricultural farmlands and super tall trees. We started out at 2 pm excited and soon became sleepy after a while.

When we arrived, a familiy who had volunteered to host our stay for free, welcomed us. They are parents of one of my husband's friends. We got talking and the old couples were quite chatty. we had some iced tea and were shown our room. A very very beautiful room. I would know because these folks are owners of hotels spread across town so its no wonder their home was like a five star lodging.

Anyway, we got changed and dressed up for the wedding we came for, and headed out. After a little bit of trying to find the address of the wedding (my husband lost the invitation card that had the address) we finally found it and drove there. we were clearly the only black couple at the event. Attendees however were nice and the wedding was the simplest event I have ever been to. After the ceremony, there was reception. We were served good chicken, doritos, lays chips and lemonade :) with bread and butter. Country and super simple.
I don't usually speak much when we're outside because my accent makes it difficult for people to grasp, and folks also tend to speak too fast, so although I could really care less for what people thought of me, I chose to let my husband do the talking. We didn't stay very long. After some time, hubby said hello to the newest married members and we went on our way. No idea what to do in a town like that, it looked dry somewhat. the only things we could see for miles were shops and burger king.
We just started driving around town hoping for some inspiration and ended up at a cemetry, haha. I said why not, and he drove right in. As we got out of the car, hubby said to me "put on your serious face, no smiling". OOps lol as i write this i cannot believe how ridiculous we were to have spent our special first trip out of state, first evening after a long road trip, first time in kennewick at a cemetry and we didn't know a single soul there. Weird much??

So we went round the area looking at tombs and reading headstones. Some folks came around and spent some moments with their loved one I guess? At the end of our "tour", we took pictures! and my husband said he didnt think he would to visit the gravestones of loved ones who had died. They were gone so there's just no point. I agreed with him.
We left and drove straight back to our lodgings. It was 9 pm. did I mention that our host was super chatty? She talked on but we were able to finally steal away and fell asleep almost immediately. The next day we had breakfast at one of their hotels and headed back to Boise.
